BMW R75 mit Seitenwagen (3x2) |
The BMW R75 sidecar was the standard military motorcycle combination used by all German armed forces. |
Side-car motorcycles had many differnt variations, including mounting brackets for mmg's and mortars. |
They saw combat on all fronts throughout the entire war. |
They were used by Aufklarung units from 1939 - 1945. |
The side car had a reverse gear to aid the motorcyle when backing up. |
Opinion on deployment : One for the "Rats" - The standard version should be chosen to be used for War #1. A must for starting in 1940.

VW Schwimmwagen K2s Typ166 |
The Schwimmwagen was a light 4x4 vehicle, used primarily by reconnaissance units. |
It was amphibious and so able to cross water obstacles when needed. |
They were also used as command vehicles in some armored units. |
Porshce produced 150 Schimmwagen in 1940. After proving successful in the field, Volkswagen then took on mass production of the vehicle. 14,265 were produced between 1942 and 1944. |
When the Schwimmwagen became available it was designated as Kradschutzen Ersatzwagen, replacing the Kubelwagen, no doubt because of the Schwimmwagens cross country performance which allowed it to keep up with motorcycle troops. |
