Biography Information:
Bremer was born in Dusterntal in 1917. In 1936 he joined the SS-Verfugungstruppe and was posted to the SS-Standarte "Germaina". Bremer then attended the SS-Junkerschule in Bad Tolz. After his training he was posted the "Leibstandarte". He was involved in combat in the Polish and French Campaigns. He commanded the Kradschutzen Company of the "Leibstandarte" on the Russian Front, where he won the Knight's Cross. In 1943 he was transferred to the 12th Ss panzer Division "Hitlerjugend" and saw action against the Western Allies. He took part in the Ardennes Offensive with "Hitlerjugend" in 1944. He surrendered with his Division to the Americans in 1945.
Gerhard Bremer was born on 25 July 1917 in Düsternthal Germany. He was awarded the Iron Cross II on 1 October 1939, and the EK I on 7 June 1940. He was awarded the Knights Cross on 30 October 1941 in command of I.Kompanie; SS Aufklärungsabeitlung 1. For most of the war his direct supperior was Kurt Meyer. German Cross in Gold on 30 August 1944. On 25 November 1944 Gerhard Bremer became the 668th man to be honored with the high award of Oak Leaves to the Knights Cross.

Following the war, Gerd Bremer was imprisoned by the French for war crimes. He was released in 1948, went to Spain and built/managed a bungalow park for vacationers in Denia-las Rotas. He died on 29 October 1989.

SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 25 (until 22 October 1943: SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 1 d. 12. SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Division. Formed at Beverlo between 20 July and 5 November 1943 with the exception of the Staff Company, which was formed on 1 January 1944. This was a motorized (motorisiert) regiment. Its Ist Battalion provided SS-Kampfgruppe "Waldmüller for a time. Note: SS-Obersturmbannführer Hans Waldmüller commanded this battalion and Battle Group for a time and was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross as an SS-Sturmbannführer on 31 August 1944. He was killed near Basse-Bodeux by Belgium guerrillas on 8 September 1944.
SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 26 (until 22 October 1943: SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 2 d. 12. SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Division. Formed at Beverlo between 20 July and 4 October 1943. This was partly armored (teilgepanzert) regiment in that one of its battalions was armored (gepanzert).)
SS-Panzer-Regiment 12 (formed at Mailly-le-Camp on 3 November 1943, with its Panther Werkstattzug (workshop platoon) being formed at Beverlo on 25 January 1944. The Regiment's original Ist and IInd battalions were intended to have had Mark V ("Panther") and Mark IV tanks respectively. Later, the remnants of both battalions were brought together to form a new Ist Battalion with both Mark IV and V tanks. In 1945, the Army's s.Pz.Jg.Abt. 560 substituted for the new IInd Battalion, which was being formed at Fallingbostel.)
